Armin Schwarz (born July 16, 1963 in Neustadt an der Aisch ) is a German rally driver .

Career

Schwarz initially drove in various German series, where he achieved several victories. His professional career began in 1987. In 1987 and 1988, Schwarz became German champions . From 1988 he took part in the World Rally Championship . His greatest success in this series was in 1991 when he won the Rally Spain . He also became European champion in 1996. Schwarz last drove for Škoda in the World Rally Championship and ended his career in the World Rally Championship at the end of the 2005 season. One year later, he took over the position of team manager for the Austrian Red Bull rally team. In addition to his racing career, he worked as an expert on TV broadcasts for RTL , n-tv and Sport 1 .

Since 2007 Armin Schwarz has been participating in the individual off-road racing events of the American desert racing series SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series (including Baja 1000 ) in the All German Motorsports Team . In 2009, Schwarz brought the racing series to Germany. In 2009 he was co-initiator of BAJA 300 POWERDAYS Germany , today's Baja Germany .

Schwarz lives in Ehrwald in Austria , is married and has two children.
