geography
The Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem wine and pilgrimage site is located on the Svodnice river in the March plain. The railway line Nové Mesto nad Váhom – Veselí nad Moravou , at which Blatnice has a stop, runs one and a half kilometers west of the village .

history
The place was first mentioned in 1046 by the chapter in Stará Boleslav . Blatnice was on a trade route and was part of the Kunovice estate .
After that, the Diocese of Olomouc became the owner of Blatnice and from 1296 the place belonged to Ulrich II von Neuhaus . Viticulture is also documented from this time ; the wine from Baltnice was delivered to Prague. After 1350 the place came under the Ostrožský rule .
The place is known for its wine, the "Blatnický Roháč", a mixture of Rhineland Riesling , Green Silvaner and White Ruländer . See also the article Viticulture in the Czech Republic .
Every year on June 13 the 14-day pilgrimage to St. Anthony begins. There is also a traditional costume thanksgiving service in August and the All Souls Day procession in October.
