The first written mention of the village belonging to the Ostroh domain took place in 1447, when Mikuláš of Vojslavice was registered as the new owner in the land register. The oldest place seal comes from the 18th century, it showed a tree.

After the replacement of patrimonial Žeravinky / Scherawin formed from 1850 a district of the community Žeravinky-Kozojídky in the district administration Göding . From 1867 both villages went their separate ways. At the end of the 19th century the village was named Žeravín and ultimately as Žeraviny . Between 1949 and 1960 the community belonged to the Okres Veselí nad Moravou and came back to the Okres Hodonín after its dissolution . Since 2004 Žeraviny has had a coat of arms and a banner.
