history
The first written mention of the village Zedraná Vrbka , which belonged to the Veselí rule , was in 1447 when Zdenko von Sternberg on Konopischt sold the rule to Mikuláš from Vojslavice. At the beginning of the 16th century Jan von Kunovice bought the village and gave it to his new rule Ostroh . In 1663 the Turks burned the village down. In 1704 the Kurucs plundered the place. The oldest local seal dates from 1708; it bears the inscription PECZET OBECNI DEDINY MALE WRBKY and shows a willow tree . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Ostroh.
After the replacement of patrimonial Malá Vrbka / Klein Wrbka formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Göding and the judicial district Strážnice . In 1888 a one-class village school was established in Malá Vrbka. Between 1949 and 1960 the community belonged to the Okres Veselí nad Moravou and came back to the Okres Hodonín after its dissolution . The school in Malá Vrbka was closed in 1974 and the children were retrained in the elementary school in Kuželov. Since the renovation in 2001, the former school has been used as a cultural center. The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2005. On June 24, 2009, the Dorfbach swelled after heavy rainfall and flooded parts of the village. The Horňácké kosení ( Mountain Mowing ) festival has been celebrated annually in Malá Vrbka since 2000 .
