Nechvalín (German Nechwalin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northwest of Kyjov and belongs to the Okres Hodonín .

geography

Nechvalín is located at the southern foot of the Steinitz Forest at the transition to the Věteřovská vrchovina hills. The village extends into the basin of the Nechvalínský brook. To the east lies the Kyjovka valley . To the north rise the Borový (378 m) and in the southeast the Bukovany (355 m).

Neighboring towns are Snovídky and Haluzice in the north, Bohuslavice in the east, Bukovany in the southeast, Ostrovánky in the south, Věteřov , Dražůvky and Archlebov in the southwest and Lovčice in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds show an early settlement of the municipality. In 1975 a historical burial ground with 179 graves was discovered northwest of the village on a spur above the valley of the Nechvalínský potok and Soudný potok. The oldest six can be assigned to the La Tène period . Most of the finds come from Slavic cultures, it is believed that there was a Great Moravian base on the spur .

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1261 in the founding deed of the Cistercian monastery Smilheim , which turned out to be a subsequent falsification. There was a fortified knight's seat on the Klobouk hill above the village. The fortress was the seat of Hynek von Nechvalín from the Bludov family, documented between 1319 and 1341, but nothing is known about when it was built. In 1369, the Znojmo burgrave Andreas von Nechvalín ceded the estate to Hinz von Lippa . From 1505 Nechvalín belonged to Wenceslaus Pacak from Pačlavice. In 1529 Johann von Leipa Nechvalín exchanged for the Lehngut Tieschitz in the Olomouc bishopric . This made Nechvalín an episcopal feudal estate and the fortress was the seat of the respective feudal men until 1640. Among them was u. a. from 1593 to 1607 Philip the Elder Borenski von Rostropitz. Between 1640 and 1650 Gundaker von Liechtenstein bought the feudal estate Nechvalín, including the special feudal Želetice, for 14,000 guilders. He struck the feudal estate Nechvalín in 1653 to his rule Ždánice . In 1834 a school building was built. At that time 448 people lived in the 79 houses in the village. Until the middle of the 19th century Nechvalín remained subordinate to the Ždánice rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nechvalín / Nechwalin formed from 1850 with the district Ostrovánky a municipality in the district administration Gaya . In 1890 Ostrovanky broke up and formed its own community. In 1895 the current school building was built. After the Okres Kyjov was abolished, the place was assigned to the Okres Hodonín in 1960. In 1980 Nechvalín was incorporated into Bukovany . Since March 23, 1990, the municipality of Nechvalín exists again.
