Milotice (German: Milotitz ) is a municipality in Moravian Slovakia , in Okres Hodonín , Jihomoravský kraj , in the Czech Republic .
history
Milotitz Castle was first mentioned in a document in 1341. The settlement of the same name was built in its vicinity. In 1412 Johann von Landstein and Morawan ( z Moravan ) acquired Milotitz and sold the maternal family property Morawan to his stepbrother Protivec von Zástřizl . Johann's son Smil von Landstein and Morawan († 1438) was one of the most important Moravian military leaders. The Catholic changed to the side of the Hussites in 1430 and later went into Hungarian service. There was also a Hutterite Bruderhof in Milotitz in the 16th century .
The castle complex was rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century and received its current baroque appearance in the first half of the 18th century. At that time the chateau was owned by the Serényi counts. In 1848 the landlord Franz von Hardegg died under mysterious circumstances in Vienna . At that time, the rule included the places Milotice, Vacenovice , Skoronice , Vlkoš , Čeložnice , Nětčice, Svatobořice , Mistřín , Sobůlky and Stavěšice .
