Mortagne-au-Perche is a French municipality with 3818 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Orne in the region of Normandy ; it is the administrative seat of the arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche and the canton of Mortagne-au-Perche . The city is located on Route nationale 12 about 40 km east of Alençon . The municipality lies on the edge of the Perche Regional Nature Park .
