Saint-Martin-du-Vieux-Bellême lies at the foot of the hilltop town of Bellême , on the upper reaches of the Même River . As seen from Bellême behind Saint-Martin, the Bois-du-Bellême begins, one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Normandy. For this reason, some sawmills are still located in Saint-Martin.
