La Ferte-en-Ouche is a French commune with 3,217 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche and the canton of Rai .

It was created with effect from January 1, 2016 as Commune nouvelle through the amalgamation of the previous communities of La Ferté-Frênel , Anceins , Bocquencé , Couvains , Gauville , Glos-la-Ferrière , Heugon , Monnai , Saint-Nicolas-des-Laitiers and Villers -en-Ouche , who have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters is in La Ferté-Frênel.

geography

La Ferté-en-Ouche is located around 50 kilometers southwest of the city center of Évreux and borders the neighboring Eure department in the north . At the western border of the municipality, the A28 motorway runs in a north-south direction. The Charentonne river touches the municipality.
