The Storey Glacier is now only a fragment of a glacier in the southeast of South Georgia . It is located on the northeast side of the Drygalski Fjord .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1979 after the Irish geologist Bryan Cecil Storey (* 1951) from the British Antarctic Survey , who was active in the area from 1976 to 1978. Landsat images from 2002 reveal a massive decline in ice masses.
