Rai is a French commune with 1,425 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Orne in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mortagne-au-Perche and the canton of Rai (until 2015: canton of L'Aigle-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Railois .
geography
Rai is located about 131 kilometers west-southwest of Paris on the Risle . Rai is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Symphorien-des-Bruyères in the north, L'Aigle in the east, Ecorcei in the south, Aube in the south and southwest and Beaufai in the west.
