Hydrology
On 30 July 2012, the Risle between fell Ajou and La Houssaye in a river sinkhole . It now runs underground for 12 kilometers. The water of the Risle was colored in order to understand the course of the river. The underground water increases the risk of further ponors. The stability of some bridges in the now dry section is threatened by the lack of water. This includes the bridge over the Risle in Grosley-sur-Risle . All the fauna and flora of the river have been destroyed over a length of more than 10 kilometers .
The underground cavity enlarged in winter, but in the meantime (as of July 2013) the change seems to have come to a standstill. On the stretch of the river between Ajou and La Houssaye, a total of 150 cubic meters of stones were placed in the Ponor on July 15 and 19. The cavity is not yet completely filled.
