Rugles is a French commune with 2,246 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bernay and the Canton of Breteuil . The inhabitants are called Ruglois .

geography

Rugles is located in the Pays d'Ouche on the Risle River , about 40 kilometers southwest of Évreux . Rugles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Antonin-de-Sommaire in the north and west, Ambenay in the north and north-east, Bois-Arnault in the east, Chéronvilliers in the south-east and Saint-Martin-d'Écublei in the south and south-west. The former Route nationale 830 runs through the municipality .
