Chambois is a French commune with 1,376 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Eure in the region of Normandy ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Bernay and the canton of Verneuil-sur-Avre .

On January 1, 2016, the municipality was formed as Commune nouvelle from the previously independent municipalities of Avrilly , Corneuil and Thomer-la-Sôgne . The administrative headquarters are in Avrilly.

geography

Chambois is about ten kilometers south of the city center of Évreux . Chambois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Plessis-Grohan in the north, Grossœuvre in the northeast, Jumelles in the east, Chavigny-Bailleul in the southeast, Mesnils-sur-Iton in the south and southwest and Sylvains-les-Moulins in the west.

The national route 154 runs through the municipality .
