It belongs to the Eure department , the Bernay arrondissement and the Bourg-Achard canton ( Quillebeuf-sur-Seine until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Roquais .

Saint-Samson-de-la-Roque is located about twenty kilometers east-southeast of Le Havre on the Seine , which borders the municipality in the north. Saint-Samson-de-la-Roque is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Cerlangue in the north, Marais-Vernier in the east, Bouquelon in the southeast, Foulbec in the south, Conteville in the west, Berville-sur-Mer in the west and northwest and Saint-Vigor -d'Ymonville to the northwest.
