Écauville (1793 still with the spelling Écauville ) is a French municipality with 111 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Eure in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement Bernay and the municipality association Pays du Neubourg .
geography
The municipality is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Évreux on the plateau of Le Neubourg between the river valleys of Eure , Risle and Seine . The area is characterized by the lack of surface running waters, which is due to the chalky subsoil. In the south of the municipality there are some small lakes with no outflow ( Mare Robert, Mare Vinquet, Le Routoir d'Écauville, Mare Tonne ). In addition to the actual closed municipal area of Écauville, there is a small exclave in the municipal area of Feuguerolles . Neighboring municipalities are Saint-Aubin-d'Écrosville in the northwest and north, Feuguerolles in the east and Quittebeuf in the south.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are four farms in the municipality (mainly grain cultivation).
Écauville is off the nationally important traffic routes. Several highways meet in the city of Le Neubourg , seven kilometers away . There is a connection to the A 13 autoroute from Caen to Paris near the city of Louviers , located 20 kilometers northeast . Charmes station, one and a half kilometers from Essegney, is on the Blainville-Damelevières-Lure railway line .
