Morainville-Jouveaux is a French municipality with 372 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure in the region Normandy (before 2016 Haute-Normandie ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bernay and is part of the canton of Beuzeville (until 2015: Cormeilles ). The inhabitants are called Morainvillais .
geography
Morainville-Jouveaux is located about 28 kilometers north-northwest of Bernay in the Pays d'Auge . Morainville-Jouveaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Sylvestre-de-Cormeilles in the north, Lieurey in the east, Noards in the southeast, Fresne-Cauverville and Bailleul-la-Vallée in the south, Asnières in the west and southwest and Saint-Pierre-de- Cormeilles to the west and northwest.
history
In 1965, the previously independent municipalities of Morainville-près-Lieurey and Jonveaux were merged to form today's municipality. In 1970 the present community got its name. Before that, it was only called Morainville-près-Lieurey .
