Mesnil-sur-Iton is a French municipality with 6122 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Eure in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bernay as well as to the cantons of Breteuil and Verneuil-sur-Avre and is a member of the Interco Normandie Sud Eure municipal association .

On January 1, 2016, the previously independent municipalities of Damville , Condé-sur-Iton , Gouville , Manthelon , Le Roncenay-Authenay and Le Sacq were merged to form Commune nouvelle Mesnils-sur-Iton. On January 1, 2019, the municipalities of Buis-sur-Damville , Grandvilliers and Roman were added. The seat of this newly created regional authority is in the district of Damville.

Mesnils-sur-Iton is located about 19 kilometers south-southwest of Évreux on the Iton . Mesnils-sur-Iton is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Nogent-le-Sec in the north and northwest, Sylvains-lès-Moulins in the northeast, Chambois in the east and northeast, Chavigny-Bailleul and Moisville in the east, Marcilly-la-Campagne in the east and South-east, Droisy in the south and south-east, L'Hosmes in the south, Sainte-Marie-d'Attez in the south and south-west, Breteuil in the west and south-west, and Marbois in the west.

Damville

Saint-Evroult church

The Saint-Evroult church dates back to the 15th century, its nave and bell tower were classified as Monument historique (historical monument) in 1921 . In the church there is a bell dated 1535, which was classified as a monument historique in 1941.

Protected geographical indications (IGP) apply to pork (Porc de Normandie) , poultry (Volailles de Normandie) and cider (Cidre de Normandie and Cidre normand) in the former municipal area .
