Roman is a former French community with 282 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Eure in the region of Normandy ; it belonged to the Arrondissement of Bernay and the canton of Verneuil-sur-Avre . The inhabitants are called Romanais .
The decree of November 20, 2018 stipulated the incorporation of Roman as Commune déléguée together with the former communes of Mesnils-sur-Iton , Grandvilliers and Buis-sur-Damville into the Commune nouvelle Mesnils-sur-Iton with effect from January 1, 2019 .
