It belongs to the Arrondissement Bernay (until 2017: Arrondissement Évreux ) and is part of the canton of Verneuil-sur-Avre . The inhabitants are called Chennebrunois .

Chennebrun is about 55 kilometers southwest of Évreux . Chennebrun is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Christophe-sur-Avre in the north and east, Armentières-sur-Avre in the south and east and Beaulieu in the west.
