It belongs to the Arrondissement Bernay (until 2017 Évreux ) and the canton Verneuil-sur-Avre (until 2015 Nonancourt ). The inhabitants are called Brédiens .

Breux-sur-Avre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Droisy in the north and north-east, Acon in the east, Bérou-la-Mulotière in the south and south-west, Tillières-sur-Avre in the west and L'Hosmes in the north-west.

The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .
