Robert Duval , Latinized Robertus Vallensis, (* 1490 in Rouen , † 1567 in Rugles ) was a French alchemist and humanist and author. He was a canon in Chartres .

Some of his writings are printed in the Theatrum Chemicum , as part of the introductory works in the first volume (1602). His De veritate et antiquitate artis chemicae (Leiden 1593, Paris 1561) can be seen as an early history of chemistry (John Ferguson). He also published De la Transformation Metallique: Trois anciens tractés en rithme françois (París, 1561).
