Saint-Jean-de-la- Ruelle is a French municipality with 16,273 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle .
geography
Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle is located west of Orléans in the southern Paris basin . The municipality is located in the Loire Valley and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle is surrounded by the municipalities of Saran in the north, Orléans in the east, Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Mesmin in the south, La-Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin in the southwest and Ingré in the west.
