Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle is located west of Orléans in the southern Paris basin . The municipality is located in the Loire Valley and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle is surrounded by the municipalities of Saran in the north, Orléans in the east, Saint-Pryvé-Saint-Mesmin in the south, La-Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin in the southwest and Ingré in the west.
