Vannes-sur-Cosson is a French municipality with 602 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and is part of the canton of Saint-Jean-le-Blanc (until 2015: Canton Jargeau ). The inhabitants call themselves Vannois .
geography
Vannes-sur-Cosson is located in the Sologne countryside about 20 kilometers southeast of Orléans on the Cosson River . Vannes-sur-Cosson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Tigy in the north, Neuvy-en-Sullias in the northeast, Viglain in the east, Isdes in the south and southeast, Souvigny-en-Sologne in the southwest, Sennely in the west and Vienne-en-Val in the Northwest.
