Ormes is a French municipality with 4122 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and is part of the canton Orléans-3 . The inhabitants are called Ormois .
geography
Ormes is about eight kilometers northeast of Orléans in the Loire Valley north of the river. Ormes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Boulay-les-Barres in the north and north-west, Gidy in the north-east, Saran in the east and south-east, Ingré in the south and Bucy-Saint-Liphard in the west.
The former national routes 155 and 157 run through the municipality .

Personalities
- Franz Ritter von Will (1830-1912), Bavarian artillery general, was ennobled for his resolute behavior on October 11, 1870, in the battle near Ormes (follow-up battles to the battle near Artenay ), and was ennobled with the Bavarian military Max-Joseph -Orders awarded.
