Saint-Ay [sɛti] is a French municipality with 3454 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and the canton Meung-sur-Loire . The inhabitants are called Agyliens .

geography

Saint-Ay is about ten kilometers west of Orléans on the Loire . Saint-Ay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Huisseau-sur-Mauves in the north and west, Chaingy in the north and north-east, Maraux-aux-Prés in the south and east and Meung-sur-Loire in the south-west.

The Saint-Ay train station is on the Paris – Bordeaux line . The A10 autoroute runs through the municipality .

Attractions

  • Saint-Ay church from the 12th century; the tomb is said to contain the relics of Saint Agylus (Saint Ay)
