Loury is a French commune with 2,452 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans , is part of the canton of Fleury-les-Aubrais (until 2015: canton of Neuville-aux-Bois ) and of the community association La Forêt . The inhabitants are called Louryens .
geography
Loury is about 15 kilometers northeast of Orléans . The Forêt d'Orléans , an approximately 150,000 hectare wooded area, is partly in the municipality. Loury is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Neuville-aux-Bois in the north and north-west, Chilleurs-aux-Bois in the north and north-east, Sully-la-Chapelle in the east and south-east, Traînou in the south and south-east, Vennecy in the south, Marigny-les- Usages in the southwest, Rebréchien in the west and southwest and Bougy-lez-Neuville in the west and southwest.
