The chapel, built in 1922, is located on Laurentiusstraße in Buchholz.
architecture
The gable , single-nave brick building of three bays with a three-sided choir closure and subsequently added and plastered sacristy annex , oriented roughly in north-south direction, stands under a hipped roof .
The steep gable roof with a square roof turret set over a corner and slated has a cross and a cock under a steep helmet . The roof has a rabbet tile covering made of brown engobed Rhineland tiles. The outer walls are characterized by red brick masonry with three double-stepped buttresses on each side, which are structured by water hammer made of artificial stone (concrete).
The nave is illuminated on each side by a yoke from a narrow arched window, closed with artificial glazing . The wall finish is formed by a surrounding eaves cornice with a curtain gutter . In front of the north gable is a gabled vestibule under a gable roof with a pronounced gable cornice, it leads into the chapel via a double-winged wooden door framed by a thick plaster frame . A round window above the vestibule illuminates the building inside.
The building was entered on September 24, 1985 under No. L 014 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .
