The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and is part of the canton of Sully-sur-Loire (until 2015: canton of Ouzouer-sur-Loire ). The inhabitants are called Bonnéens .

Bonnée is located about 38 kilometers east-southeast of Orléans in the Loire Valley . To the north and east is the Orléans Forest. Bonnée is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bray-en-Val in the north, Les Bordes in the north and northeast, Ouzouer-sur-Loire in the east and southeast, Saint-Père-sur-Loire in the south and Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire in the west .
