Villemurlin is located about 40 kilometers south-east of Orléans in the Sologne . Villemurlin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Viglain in the north and north-west, Sully-sur-Loire in the north, Saint-Aignan-le-Jaillard in the north-east, Saint-Florent in the east, Cerdon in the south and Isdes in the west and south-west.
