Wilhelm Schenner

Wilhelm Schenner (born March 20, 1839 in St. Agatha , Bad Goisern community , † September 27, 1913 in Vienna ) was an organist , pianist and music teacher .

The son of the school teacher Johann Georg Schenner (1806-1893) was organist at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Vienna from 1860 to around 1900 . In 1862 he graduated from the Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music ( piano with Josef Dachs ). In addition to his 40 years of teaching as a piano teacher at the conservatory (1864–1904), he emerged as a concert pianist . Numerous composers and musicians were influenced by his teaching, such as Guido Adler .

While his brother Julius (1844–1916) was director of the evangelical school in Vienna, his brother Ferdinand (1846–1910) was also an organist and composer .
