Ruan is a French municipality with 205 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Orléans and the canton Meung-sur-Loire (until 2015: canton Artenay ). The inhabitants are called Ruanais .
Geography and traffic
Ruan is about 23 kilometers north of Orléans . Ruan is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lion-en-Beauce in the north, Oison in the northeast, Aschères-le-Marché in the east, Trinay in the south and southeast, Artenay in the south and southwest, Dambron in the west and Santilly in the northwest.
