The Orléans Métropole is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Métropole in the department of Loiret in the region Center-Val de Loire . It was founded on December 27, 2001 and comprises 22 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in the city of Orléans .

Historical development

The association, originally founded as Communauté d'agglomération Orléans Val de Loire , was elevated to the rank of Communauté urbaine with effect from January 1, 2017 , and a Métropole as of July 1, 2017 , and renamed accordingly. However, the legal personality was not changed.
