The N104 is now a French national road that forms a kind of motorway ring around large parts of Paris. After its nickname Francilienne (after '' Ile de France '' ) it is treated there in more detail.

The N 104 used to be a road that was laid down in 1824 between Le Pouzin and Alès (then still "Alais") in southern France. It goes back to the route impériale 124. Their total length was 108 kilometers. In 1973 the section between Aubenas and Alès was graduated and in 1978 it took over the N86 G , so that this route resulted:

  • N 86 G Loriol-sur-Drôme - Le Pouzin
  • N 104 Le Pouzin - Aubenas

In 1990 the number was changed to N304, as the number N104 was taken for the Francilienne , where it is still used today. The article on this provides current information on the current N104.
