The Route nationale 151 , or N 151 or RN 151 for short , is a French national road .

It currently runs from Châteauroux to Auxerre . The national road between Bourges and Auxerre is part of the second variant of the Grand contournement de Paris . In this area it is to be replaced by the A26, the construction of which is currently on hold. A south-east bypass of Auxerre is to be implemented by 2018, which can later become part of the motorway. An expansion of the N151 is also planned due to the postponed motorway construction.

In 1824, the N151 was established as the successor to route impériale 171 between Poitiers and Avallon . Their total length was 293 kilometers. In 1846 the section from Vézelay to Avallon was deleted from the route and instead led from Vézelay to the N6 at Givry . The length changed to 288 kilometers. The section Vézelay - Avallon was again signposted from 1933 to 1973 as part of the route of the national road 457 (today's Department Road 957). In 1973 the section from Clamecy to Givry was downgraded and the section from national road 77 from Varzy to Auxerre, as well as a departmental road running parallel to the N77 between Varzy and Clamecy, was taken over:
