Historic course of the road

The historic national road ran from 1824 to 1973 between Nevers and the Belgian border near Bouillon . The N 77 goes back on Route imperialé 95. Its total length was 385 kilometers. In 1973 it was shortened to the Auxerre - Châlons-en-Champagne section . It took over the section between Troyes and Pont-Sainte-Marie from the N60:

In 1978 the section from Clamency to Auxerre was taken over by the national road 151 . In 2006 it was further shortened to the section Auxerre - Troyes.
