The Route nationale 136 , or N 136 or RN 136 for short , was a French national road .

The road was laid between Bordeaux and Bergerac in 1824 and goes back to route 156 impériale. Their length was 88.5 kilometers. In 1973 the national road was downgraded to departmental roads. In 1978 the national road 137 A , which served as the southern bypass of Rennes , was again marked as national road 136. By 1999 it was expanded into a complete ring road around Rennes. In the future, the northern part is to be expanded into a motorway and integrated into the A81 .
