The Route nationale 80 , or N 80 or RN 80 for short , is a French national road that was established in 1824 between Châtillon-sur-Seine and the N79 south of Cluny. It goes back to the route impériale 98. Their length was 206 kilometers. In 1973 it was downgraded to the section between Autun and Montcenis and in 1978 it was led to Chalon-sur-Saône via an expressway built between Montchanin and Chalon parallel to the north of the N477. In 2006 it was graduated between Autun and the intersection with the N70 near Montchanin. The remainder between Montchanin and Chalon is part of the northeast branch of the Center-Europe-Atlantique route .
