The N543 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973 that ran between Sault and Septèmes-les-Vallons. Their length was 104 kilometers. Since 2000, the road through the Tunnel du Fréjus to the Italian border has been numbered N543 as a continuation of the A43. Before that, this piece was numbered N566. On the Italian side it continues as Traforo 4.
