The Route nationale 388 , or N 388 or RN 388 for short, was a French national road from 1933 to 1973 that ran from Fumay to Charleville-Mézières . It represented an alternative route for the N51. Its length was 32.5 kilometers. Today the number is used again for a short break on the A47 in Givors . It leads as a bridge over the Rhone . The choice of number comes from the parallel course of the A47 to the N88.
