The Route nationale 440 , or N 440 or RN 440 for short , is a French national road that was established in 1933 between Anglure and Marcilly-le-Hayer. In 1973 the 33 kilometer long road was graduated. In the late 1980s the number was used for the Brumath North Bypass. In the 1990s, it was renumbered to A340. The number is currently used for a one-way connecting road to the A6 between Grigny and Évry running from north to south parallel to the A6. The N441 runs in the opposite direction.
