The Route nationale 568 , or N 568 or RN 568 for short , is a French national road that ran between Nîmes and Les Pennes-Mirabeau from 1933. In the Gard department, the route of the department road signposted in 1813 as D11 and from 1891 as Gc41 was used. Their length was 101 kilometers. In 1949, the section between Nîmes and the junction with the N572 west of Saint-Martin-de-Crau was taken over by the N113. The length sank to 60.5 kilometers. In 1978 it was moved to L'Estaque via the N568 B route . The old route was reclassified to the N368 in 2006.

The Route nationale 568 A , N 568 A or RN 568 A for short , was a side branch of the N568 from 1933 to 1973, which branched off from it in Fos-sur-Mer and ran to Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. Their length was 13 kilometers. In 1967, the N568 A was relocated to a new road further north, as the route close to the shore was in the way of the construction of a new port between Fos-sur-Mer and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. As a result, only remnants of the original route exist today as communal roads. The length of the new tour was 15 kilometers.
