The N525 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973 that ran between Goncelin and the small alpine village of Roselend. Their length was 88 kilometers. From the alpine village the Gc17 (later D217) continued with a length of 8 kilometers to the Cormet de Roselend pass . With the construction of the Barrage de Roselend dam, the N525 was shortened to this because the village is located in the dam area. In this context, the village chapel was rebuilt above the water level. A new road was built north of the lake on which the successor road number was only placed after the N525 was downgraded to the D925.
