The N599 was a French national road established in 1933 between Marvejols and the N585 north of Grandrieu. In 1966, the section between Saint-Amans and the N585 was graduated and, in return, the N600 was extended elsewhere within Lozère. Their length fell from 55.5 to 25 kilometers. In 1973 it was completely phased out.
