The Route nationale 683 , or N 683 or RN 683 for short , was a French national road .

It was added to the road network in 1933 and initially led between an intersection with national road 89 southwest of Clermont-Ferrand and an intersection with national road 496 east of Le Mont-Dore . In 1941 the road between Le Mont-Dore and a parking lot for the Puy de Sancy was slammed into the road. Since 1973 it has had the status of a departmental road . Their total length was 26.5 kilometers.
