The N504 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973 that ran between Le Coteau and Ruffieux. Their length was 187.5 kilometers. In 1978 a new N504 was formed between Ambérieu-en-Bugey and Villarcher:

The N504 A was a side branch of the N504, which branched off from it in 1933 before Pugieu and led to Virieu-le-Grand . In 1952 it was graduated and in 1957 a new N504 A was formed, which used the first route for a short distance and then continued to the N521 B west of Yenne . In 1973 the graduation took place. The lengths were 5 and 18 kilometers.
