The N636 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973, which ran in two parts between Bayonne and the N21 southwest of Tarbes. Their total length was 141 kilometers. From 1832 to 1881 the road between Bayonne and Saint-Pierre-d'Irube, and from 1849 to 1881 between Saint-Pierre-d'Irube and Briscous, was the national road as part of the N132.

N636a

The N636 A was a branch of the N636, which was created in 1965 when a bridge was built over the Adour in Bayonne. It ran to the N117 on the other side of the river. In 1973 it was downgraded to the D935.
