Ossun is a French commune in the department of Hautes-Pyrénées in the region Occitania . It is located in the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the capital of the canton of Ossun .

Ossun has 2368 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on 27.59 square kilometers and is located about 9.5 kilometers southwest of Tarbes in the Bigorre . The municipality's train station is on the Toulouse – Bayonne railway line . The Lourdes-Tarbes International Airport is an essential part in the municipal area.

The Gabas and Souy rivers have their source in the municipality .

Ossun is one of the places where the brothers and sisters of the communities of Jerusalem settled because of its proximity to Lourdes .
