Caussade-Rivière is a French commune with 97 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of Val d'Adour-Rustan-Madiranais (until 2015: canton of Maubourguet ).

The inhabitants are called Caussadois and Caussadoises .

Caussade-Rivière is located about 32 kilometers northeast of Tarbes in the Région naturelle Rivière-Basse on the north-western edge of the department. The municipality is crossed by the Layza river on the eastern edge of the Adour .

Population development

After records began, the population rose to a high of around 245 by the middle of the 19th century. Subsequently, the size of the community fell to a low of around 85 inhabitants before a short recovery period until the first decade of the 21st century A phase of moderate growth began that continues today.
