Peyraub is a French commune with 161 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Tarbes and the canton of La Vallée de l'Arros et des Baïses (until 2015: canton of Tournay ).

The inhabitants are called Peyraubais and Peyraubaises .

Peyraub is located about 14 kilometers east-southeast of Tarbes in its catchment area ( Aire urbaine ) in the historic county of Bigorre .

Population development

After the records began, the population rose to a peak of around 375 by the first half of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 100 inhabitants during short recovery phases until the 1980s, before a growth phase that began continues today.
